He is a technical founder with over fifteen years of payments experience and a deep passion for team culture, marketing, and product. His track record includes developing payment platforms for both SMBs and Fortune 500 companies. He has been recognized for his contributions to the payment industry and tech economy in Canada as the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Prairies Technology overall category winner in 2018 and as a member of the Avenue Calgary Top 40 Under 40 class of 2019.

Jon Algeo is the Senior Economic Development Manager at Taza Development Corp., dedicated to building communities through strong working relationships and partnerships while developing innovative planning and economic development opportunities for Tsuut’ina Nation and Tsuut’ina Nation citizens on Taza. From evaluating and administering ongoing projects for Taza; meeting with contractors, engineers and partner representatives, talking to various business owners and researching the operating models of prospective investments, Jon relishes seeing projects come to fruition. He enjoys being a part of a team of partners who work together well to facilitate new job creation and the attraction of new capital investment. Jon holds a graduate degree in Economics from the University of Victoria and has nearly 10 years of professional experience in investment analysis, commodity marketing, and economic development. As a Director at HR&A Advisors, Santiago supports governments, non-profit organizations, and development banks in the design and implementation of financing and governance strategies for infrastructure, transit-oriented development, and inclusive economic development projects. Santiago is currently supporting Calgary and Clark County in Nevada advancing innovation ecosystems strategies that can foster inclusive and sustainable economic development. Santiago supported the development of an equitable economic development strategy for San Antonio’s West Side and supported Oklahoma City in the development of their Innovation District. Santiago has advised several economic development and transit agencies in the United States and abroad. Santiago earned his master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from Pratt Institute. He previously obtained a Degree in Economics from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia.
